We ate here for breakfast while we stayed at the Pagosa hot springs. The location of convenient if staying at the resort. Its a 5 minute walk across the bridge. The atmosphere is layed back and the patio over looks the hot springs mineral pools. My wife ordered a plain coffe and a lemon/blueberry muffin. That muffin was so moist and has lots of blueberries. I had a ham cheese Kolache, which I also highly recommend. I highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast and coffee.

Highly recommended! My partner was visiting there and enjoyed the coffee very much! He left his laptop charger there and the team was very helpful to help us find it and send it back to us! They packed the charger so well to protect it. Thank you Root house!!!

Driving through and rested at the Hot Springs. Went over shortly after they opened and experienced a delightful atmosphere and great tasting Dirty Chai Tea.

Every time I visit Pagosa Springs, The Root House is my first stop for a hot chocolate, or chai tea latte, and a made from scratch, chocolate chip cookie. In addition to decadent home-baked goods, and a wide variety of teas, and coffees, they also have many interesting books, locally crafted jewelry, hats, t-shirts, and other artisan items. Located in the heart of Pagosa Springs, they have a lovely deck, with tables and chairs, where you can sit outside and listen to the San Juan river. They're within walking distance of other restaurants and shops, and close to the walking trail along the San Juan River. The staff is friendly and helpful, the bathroom is always spotlessly clean and if you are there alone, you will easily find someone to visit with.

Root Coffee shop is a such a gem. Located across from the Springs Hotel. The coffee is great and they have the best breakfast items ranging from crustless Quiche, Kolaches and fresh baked items. As you wait on your coffee be sure to stroll through the adorable gift shop attached; the prices on their items are very affordable and unique. Take your choice of sitting from comfy chairs, concrete bar and tables inside along with outside sitting that overlooks the river and the walk path that winds around the river. The deck makes it perfect for those with dogs and they even have water bowls. I loved it so much I came back multiple times.

The decoration and the wonderful curated shopping contribute to an already wonderful meal and coffee drink. This is a mandatory stop whenever passing through PS, every time! This time I tried the House Latte, completely unique, and delicious (AF). Now something added to look forward too! Support this coffee purveyor, be it latte or cold brew, hasn’t disappointed. And the outdoor deck is a great respite too!

The perfect coffee shop. Great ambiance. Service was fast and helpful. They make their own syrups and a lot of their baked goods. We tried their donuts and they were delicious paired with a cappuccino. I would recommend making the stop here.
